The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan organize the International Violin Competition Vladimir Spivakov in the capital of Bashkiria

A unique violin created in 1918 by Italian master Giuseppe Pedrazzini will be presented to the winner of the III Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition.

The competition will take place from the 17 till 21 October 2020 in Ufa, the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The participants will be young performers aged 15-26. The applications to participate in the Competition will be accepted until 01 June 2020. The performances of the contestant will be judged by an international judges headed by a prominent violinist whose performing art is highly appreciated all over the world, Mikhail Kopelman (USA). The jury will also include Vladimir Spivakov (Russia), Boris Kuschnir (Austria), Joji Hattori (Japan) and Tong Weidong (China).

The competition of young violinists will consist of three rounds. In the I and II rounds, the participants will present their solo programs. In the III round, the finalists will perform one of violin concertos by composers of the XIX–XX century accompanied by the National Symphonic Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the participation of soloists of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.

The results of the competition will be announced on the final date of auditions — 20 October 2020. The winners of the 2nd and 3rd prices will receive the instruments made by Nicolas Caussin (Neufchateau, 1860-1870) and Igor Ulitsky (Moscow, 2019). The prize fund also includes two separate prizes 1,000 US dollars each, and special prizes from Vladimir Spivakov, artistic director of the competition.

The grand award ceremony and the gala-concert of the finalists will take place on 21 October 2020 at 19:00 on the stage of the State Concert Hall Bashkortostan.

The additional program of the competitions includes master classes by the competition judges for young musicians, and master classes in orchestral performance from concert masters of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia.
