Merily Leotoots

24 years, Estonia

Merily Leotoots was born in 1994. She studied with professor Mari Tampere-Bezrodny and Sigrid Kuulmann in Tallinn Music High School from which she graduated in 2014. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in prof. Mari Tampere-Bezrodny’s violin class in 2017. She is currently continuing her Master studies in the Estonian Music Academy and was accepted for an exchange year in Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London for the 2018/19 academic cycle. Merily has successfully taken part in many national competitions (several prizes, first and second places, diplomas etc.) 

She has participated in masterclasses given by Pavel Berman, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Kolja Blacher, Petru Munteanu, Marina Chiche, Natalia Lomeiko and others. She has given chamber concerts at festivals in Estonia, Germany, Finland, UK, etc. Merily plays solo and chamber concerts in Tallinn and nearby music schools regularly. She actively participates in several chamber ensembles (piano quintet, duos with pianists). She won a single scholarship from the Estonian National Culture Fond in 2017 for good results in studies and performance activities.
