Leonid Zhelezny started to play violin at the age of 5. He studied at Gnessin Music College (class of Elena Malkina) and Moscow Central School for Music of Moscow Conservatory (class of Alexander Vinnitsky, People’s Artist of Russia). He currently carries on with his training under Prof. Vinnitsky at Moscow Conservatory. Leonid’s wide concert repertoire includes pieces of different époques and styles. He finished as a runner-up in many international competitions among which there are Homecoming International Chamber Music Festival (Special Jury Award, Moscow, 2009), International Beethoven Violin Competition in St. Pölten (2nd Prize, Austria, 2010), International Leopold Auer Violin and String Quartet Competition (2nd Prize, St. Petersburg, 2015) and III Stockholm International Music Competition (1st Prize, 2014). Leonid performed in Russia and abroad — at Grand, Small and Rachmaninoff Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Slobodkin Center Concert Hall, Chamber Hall of Moscow International House of Music, Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center, Konsert & Kongress Hall (Sweden).
He performed with conductors Alexander Rudin, Sergey Bezrodny, Mikhail Simonyan, Vladimir Ryzhaev, Timur Zangiev and Sweden maestro Joachim Gustaffson.
