Changes in jury!

Due to the busyness of Professor Tun Weidong (China), the jury includes an international expert and restorer Julie Reid (USA). Since 2016, she has been an expert in instruments, making up the prize fund of the Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition.

Julie Reid is a graduate of Newark's Violin School and began her studies in Nebraska with David Weeb, who kindly taught her while she was at the University of Nebraska. Julie has worked in major violin shops in England, Germany and the United States, specializing in the restoration of some of the finest instruments of the classical period. Julie Reid has had her New York office since 2006, specializing in the repair and restoration of violins, violas and cellos. She has an international reputation serving clients from Europe, Asia, Australia and the United States. Soloists, accompanists, band members, string instructors and students come to her to tune and place their instruments in her care. Julie Reid was the organizer of the Contemporary Violin Makers Exhibition, a three-day event featuring at least 50 of the world's best violinists. More than 1,500 people visit the exhibition annually.
