CAREER:
Chisa Kitagawa began her violin studies at the age of 3. Since the age of 15, she has been studying at the Tokyo National University of Arts in the class of Professor Takashi Shimizu. Currently she's attending Toho Gakuen Graduate School of Music as a special scholarship student. She has won eight international competitions from 2011 to 2016. She has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras such as the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra, the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra etc. She has also performed in Russia, the Netherland, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Austria, China, Singapore and often been featured by 1V, radio, newspapers and various media. She's an artist CHANEL PYGMARION DAYS 2019 in Japan. In the next season, she'll have recitals at Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
COMPETITIONS:
The Beethoven International Violin Competition (I prize, Vienna, 2012); the Euro-Asian International Violin Competition (I prize, Tokyo, 2013); the V International Violin Festival (I prize, Italy, 2014 ); the International Violin Competition Naleczow (Poland, 2016); the Bartok World Competition (three special prizes and a diploma, Budapest, 2017); the II Singapore International Violin Competition (II prize and prize-winning sympathy, 2018); the I Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition (II prize, 2018); semi-finalist of the XVI P.I. Tchaikovsky International Competition (2019); the 89th Japan Music Competition (I prize and Audience Award, 2020).
CONCERT PERFORMANCES:
In 2018, Chisa Kitagawa performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Joshua Tan); in 2019 - with the Savaria Symphony Orchestra at the Concert Hall in Szombathely in Hungary (conducted by lzaki Masahiro); in 2019 - with the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Mikhail Mosenkov); in the 2020-2021 season -with the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra at the Tokyo Opera House ( conducted by Ken Takaseki) and with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Keiko Mitsuhashi).
